Keene plays with very prominent melodic projection. It's quite nice to hear, and her performances of those old chestnuts, Chopin's Ballades, are definitive. There are some interesting, lesser known pieces to satisfy the curious, like several by MacDowell.
But the highlight for me was Gluck's Melody from Orfeo, so lovely in a transcription by Abram Chasins to be worth the price of the CD all by itself.
