Composers Concordance Records released Amethyst and it is available from Naxos, Amazon, and iTunes.
"Jai Jeffryes is clearly one of those pianists constitutionally incapable of unmusical playing." -- Fanfare Magazine
Jai's first CD, Hayner Resounding, features studio recordings of music of Schubert and Debussy that he performed at the Hayner Cultural Center in Troy, Ohio. Jai presents Hayner Resounding in tribute and thanks to Hayner and his hometown community. Of the CD, American Record Guide writes, "These are gentle performances, all quite lovely and all played with affection...The Steinway D has rarely been treated with such respect." Hayner Resounding is available at www.Jeffryes.NET, Amazon, and iTunes.
Jai has appeared in recital at the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena, California, the Nicholas Roerich Museum, Spectrum NYC, and the Church of St. Stephen in New York, and with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and the Columbus Symphony Orchestra. The Los Angeles Times writes, "Jai Jeffryes has as rounded a sound and as variegated a palette of tone as any pianist around."
Jai grew up studying piano with Barbara Wasson of Dayton, Ohio. He attended Arizona State University where he was a student of James Ruccolo. Jai completed his graduate studies at Texas Christian University with Steven De Groote, who was a Gold Medalist of the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. Following his formal education, Jai located to New York City. He interviews other pianists for New York Pianist at www.NewYorkPianist.NET.
Jai's musical life has spanned classical music and show business. He was formerly a music director and orchestral keyboardist for musical theatrical productions and conducted shows in Berlin, Paris, and Tokyo. He worked with Broadway touring companies that appeared throughout North America, Europe, and Japan including productions of A Chorus Line, Jesus Christ Superstar, and Annie Get Your Gun.
